We were blessed to go to Arizona for Christmas. Kirsten flew over from San Diego, where she is a sophomore at Point Loma Nazarene University (Pete and Lenore's Alma Mater). Karl drove down from Fairbanks, AK and flew out with us. What an amazing time to have all of our children with us to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, Savior of the world.
The best part was spending time with so many different families. Although we love Alaska, we miss our extended families so much.My niece and nephew Summer and Scott Steenbarger were with us in Tempe for the first week, before heading back to Washington.
The cousins have so much fun together. My niece and nephew J.R. and Sarah brought their two sweet girls every single night we were in Arizona even though it meant a drive across Phoenix. We loved hanging out with all of them.
Mom, Anna Mary and Dad, Bob Stonoff were wonderful hosts. I'm sure we tired them out but we tried to help as much as possible. I am so blessed to have my parents and get to visit them in the home I was born into.
We went with J.R. and Summer's families to "The Farm". What a hoot.
The plastic ice rink was a big hit and the fake grass too!
Kirsten, Karl, Lenore, Claire and Pete at "The Farm"!
Kirsten and Zoey have the exact same expressions on their faces.
Karl preparing for his triple axle. It took awhile for them to get used to the fake ice!
Singing Christmas carols around the piano.
The flag had wound around the pole and mom asked for some help. Karl figured out a way to solve it.
We drove dad's truck up to Prescott, AZ and spent a few days with Don and Nancy Swanson and Uncle John at "the cabin".
After church photo shoot!
over for coffee to plan for our Disneyland trip. Karl and cousins Logan and Jackson.
We drove over to LaVerne, CA and stayed a few nights with my cousins Karen and Keith Reeves.
Karl bought my dad's old pickup (that we grew up in) last Summer and has been trying to get it started ever since. After many days of work on it Karl was very disappointed to try to start it and .....it needs a new starter.
Back in Alaska Pete and Karl decide to ride! We were so thankful that both Karl and Kirsten came home with us and spent an extra week in Alaska.
One of our favorite family adventures is shooting. We always seem to wait for the coldest days. Never mind the cold, we had fun trying Kirsten and Karl's new guns, and my new pistol.
Kirsten tries out Karl's AR. Her brother has a few pointers before she shoots.
I love this photo as you can see the fire coming out of the muzzle.
I took two cameras to Arizona, so we will go back to Arizona for the rest of the photos.
Claire with cuz Flynn.
Celebrating Zoey's birthday: Claire and Elle!
We celebrated New Year's Eve with the Reeves in Southern California! Wohoo!
Signe's Minnie Mouse ears made it around the whole group! We were in the spirit!
Claire messing around with cousin Logan and a Kirsten photo bomb.
Karl and Logan decided to 'direct' the water orchestra. They actually got it fine tuned.
Disneyland at night. What fun with Robert and Shelley Miller, and kids, Karen, Megan, Mel, and Molly Reeves, and our whole family.
Kids after day 1 at Disneyland. On the cart back to the parking lot.
And up for a 2nd day! Rested...sort of.
Jackson, Megan and Mel ready to ride.
Mel and cuz Kirsten
It's a small world! In Christmas style.
Too much spinning for adults!
Watch out Alaska. We have a new driver!!!
